Ulnes Walton Parish Crosses

Plans are afoot to recreate one of the Ulnes Walton Parish crosses.  During the Ulnes Walton bridge repair the base from one of these ancient monuments was discovered and marked.  It will be impossible to re-erect it in its original position, but with the agreement of the Old School Trustees it is planned to be placed at the foot of the school.  The information we have on the original crosses is sketchy and if anyone has definite information or photographs please contact Cllr Brendon Pickthall with the details.

Gone Fishing

Would you like to learn how to make fly's for use in fly fishing? A suggestion has been put forward for a workshop to learn this very precise art, but before putting arrangements into place gauge interest needs to be gauged. The course would take place over an eight week period but as well as learning to tie flies the group would also have an insight into the entomology of the river. If you would be interested in joining such a course please contact Jim Coan on 01772 452782 and if there is enough support you will be sent further details when the course is arranged.
