PLANNING APPLICATION BY TARMAC FOR A SAND QUARRY IN  EUXTON

The Planning application for the development of a sand quarry, processing plant and new access road in Euxton has now been passed to the Secretary of State on appeal against the decision by the County Council to refuse the planning application.

A Public Inquiry is to be held and will begin on Tuesday, 22 April and continue for approximately 12 days (Tues to Fri).  It will be held at Shaw Hill Golf Club on Preston Road, Whittle-le-Woods.

An evening session will be held at Washington Hall, International Fire Training and Development Centre, Euxton on Wednesday, 30 April between 19.00 pm and 22.00 pm where members of the public who are unable to attend the normal day time sessions may have their statements heard.

Euxton Parish Council has set up a Planning Inquiry Committee to support village residents to fight against this appeal.  A planning expert and legal representation will be in place to assist with the Inquiry. More information can be obtained from Euxton Parish Council's web site www.euxtoncouncil.org.uk
