4. Road Safety Issues – Southport Road

Proposed meeting with LCC – Members are asked to consider who should attend the meeting and suggest suitable dates.

Enforcement of speed limit on Southport Road

5. Quality Parish Council Status (QPS)

A draft Charter has been issued by the County Council (copy enclosed) Members are asked to consider it content and comment as necessary.

6. Prison Issues

Briefing on the meeting with residents regarding screening programme for HMP Wymott (notes enclosed). Members are asked to consider appropriate action.

7. Goal Post Wymott Park

Letters from residents of the estate (enclosed). Members are asked to consider appropriate action.

8. Boundary Signs

Wymott Prison is able to manufacture the chosen design, Members are asked to give approval for the Clerk to seek funding for the project.

9. Clerks Remuneration

Salary Scales – new scales have been issued by NALC copy enclosed, Members are asked to formally adopt this document in line with the Clerks contract of Employment.

Further guidance has been issued relating to the enhancement of salaries for Clerks attaining quality status, Members are asked to consider the recommendations.

Model Code of Conduct for Employees. A model code for consultation has been issued by the Office of the Deputy Prime Minister, Members are asked to consider whether they wish to make comment.

10. Mersey Basin Week Event on the 9 October 2004

Members are asked to consider the final arrangements for the event

11. Chorley Partnership

Forum attended by Members and subsequent letter from the Chorley Partnership (enclosed)

12. Parish Council Notice Board

Problems associated with the notice board at Gilson’s Garage and consider an alternative location.

13. Sand and Gravel Extraction Euxton

Members are asked to give consideration to the correspondence enclosed from County Councillor Whittaker.

14. Chorley Hospital

Members are asked to consider the content of the enclosed letter from Lindsay Hoyle MP and appropriate Action.

15. Parish Plan Action

Update on progress regarding implementation of the plan

16. Planning Applications

New application notified –

Conversion of existing garage to studio and utility rooms and erection of attached double garage to side, Garstang Farm Ulnes Walton Lane.
