5. Quality Parish Council Status (QPS)

The Parish Council is now in a very strong position to apply for QPS, Members are asked to give this consideration and note the content of the document enclosed.

6. Road Safety Issues – Southport Road

A letter has been received from Lancashire County Council requesting a meeting with representatives of the Parish Council to discuss proposal in more detail and the problems at the junction with New Lane.

7. Multi User Track

Briefing on recent meeting with representatives from LCC and SITA.

8. Prison Issues

Update on progress regarding recent discussion

9. Parish Plan Action

Update on progress regarding implementation of the plan

An event is being organised to coincide with the Mersey Basin week in October. Members are asked to give consideration to the event.

10. Parish Council Website

Registration under the Data Protection Act

Lancashire County Council has developed a new website for Parish Councils, Members are asked to consider whether they wish to maintain the relevant page for Ulnes Walton.

11. Wildflower Project

Briefing on discussions with the Lancashire County Council Countryside Officer

12. Horse Issues

Briefing on discussion with Anita Knagg of the British Horse Society

Members are asked to give consideration to requesting LCC to improve the signage along Ulnes Walton Lane to warn drivers of the presence of horses.

13. Planning Applications

Two new applications have been notified –

Creation of a rubber riding arena and sand paddock at Lowe Farm, Leyland Lane
Use of outbuildings for workshop relating to commercial vehicles at 645 Leyland Lane

14. Finance

· An amount of £50 has been set aside in the budget as donations, Members are asked to consider where this money should be allocated.
· Monitoring Statement
· Approval of items of expenditure

15. Chorley Partnership

Letter of invitation to take part in a forum to discuss the future of Chorley Borough.

16. Matters Raised by Members

An opportunity for Members to raise items that need attention or matters for discussion at future Parish Council meetings.

17. Residents Surgery

An opportunity for members of the public to raise questions or matters of concern for discussion at future meetings.
