5. Community Car Scheme/Red Rose Runner
A number of months ago it was reported that the County Council was introducing a scheme to the area similar to the Community Car scheme to take residents to hospital appointments, doctors etc. The scheme came into operation in August and a map showing the area covered and fares is enclosed. This is supposed to be a subsidised bus service but a typical return fare to Chorley from Ulnes Walton is £5. Members are asked to give the matter consideration and whether it might be viable to link in with the other surrounding villages to have a community bus just for
Lostock.
Cllr Iddon will contribute to this discussion.
An approach has again been made by the Eccleston Community Car scheme to extend into Ulnes Walton, Mr Ormeord will brief further on this.
